Learning you have a little one on the way can be one of the most exciting periods in a woman’s life. Figuring out how to decorate the nursery and discovering everything you will need for that bundle of joy can quickly turn it into one of the most stressful times. There are some general guidelines you can follow to make the process significantly simpler.
Firstly, ask around to friends with children. See what they really needed and what turned out to be extra, and therefore went unused. Then start compiling a list.
Design a color scheme for the room. This will give you a starting point when you head out to look for unique furniture to fill the room with. One helpful tip is to pick a color that is fairly neutral. This will make adding furniture as your child grows easier.
The crib is by far the most important piece of furniture in the room, and getting suggestions from parents is a good way to go. But, make sure to also include somewhere to sit and nurse or read to your child. A crib works perfectly. And a small sofa set will give you somewhere to rest during those long nights.
Whatever you decide on, look at the process as an adventure, not a task!
