Buying Discontinued Ashley Furniture Pieces

Companies regularly discontinue pieces of furniture sets after a period of time in order to make room for new designs. This can be frustrating for Ashley furniture set owners in need of a discontinued piece. Finding and securing the discontinued piece is not an easy process, but if you are willing to put a little work in, you may be able to complete your set. Here is how.

  1. First, you will need to identify the name, grouping and item number of the piece you are looking for. If you still have the original invoice, all the information should be on there. Otherwise, you can check the underside of a furniture piece.
  2. Contact the retailer, explain what you are looking for (offering the name and item number) and ask if there is any leftover stock in the warehouse that is available for purchasing.
  3. If there are not any available pieces in a warehouse, ask for names of the stores in your area that may still have unsold pieces on their showroom floor and call these stores to inquire about the inventory of these items.
  4. If you still get nowhere, try eBay or Craigslist. Type in the model number or name. This can be a tiresome process, but sometimes you will strike gold. If you find nothing, post an ad on Craigslist yourself. Describe what you are looking for and how much you are offering and see what happens.

If all this fails, you might have to settle for a new line of Ashley sofa sets. While finding the discontinued items, you’ll also love to have a look at Tips for Designing a Perfect U-shaped Kitchen.
